Sahajahan Chitrakar is a resident of Pingla village in Paschim Medinipur. He is being practicing the art for over 20 years. In early days, Ranjit Chitrakar, father of Uttam Chitrakar was the primary driving force for him. Sahajahan is mostly interested in painting Bengal Patas and is one of the most skilled artists in the area. In 2017, he painted a Pat with a length of 70 feet depicting the Ramayan mythology. Sahajahan and his brother Seramuddiin Chitrakar are the only Patachitra artists who paints large size Pats in the area. He has visited in various places like – Delhi, Hyderabad, Orissa, Chennai and all parts of Bengal. Sahajan Chitrakar has also received a district award
